Bendigo Line RFR works trains.

27th January 2005 to 27th February 2005

Was sent away on transfer to Kyenton, located on the Bendigo line mid-way between Melbourne and Bendigo for 5 weeks. Worked the whole duration on the afternoon shift ballast trains. During my 5 weeks there we ballasted between Sunbury and Woodend and these photos show some of these workings. The Bendigo line has been closed to all trains for the whole of 2005 to allow upgrade works to be carried out in preperation for new high-speed trains to begin operation in late 2006.

Track machines work on the upline near Clarkefield as X47 approaches with the empty Ballast train returning to Clarkefield to reload.	H5 leads a loaded Ballast train into Gisborne, working from Macedon to the drop site near Riddells Creek.	X47 is stabled on the downline at Clarkefield with no ballast drops planned for this day.	The sun has just set on X47 at Clarkefield which has just stabled for the night.
X 49 stands on the upline at Macedon having just finished loading ballast. On the downline, X47 and H4 pass slowly with the empty sleeper train, re-positioning to Kyenton for future works.	X49 and the ballast train being re-loaded at Woodend.
